I visited the Oklahoma City Bombing Memorial just after the NYC WTC Attack. Just to say some silent prayers and remember the lost.

Here are just a few images I managed to capture.

If you have never been to the Memorial, you really should visit. It is beautiful, moving and peaceful.

You can get a idea of what the Memorial is like,
but you really need to see it in person to appreciate it.

The entrance on the East Side looking over the reflecting pool.

The entrance on the West side (looking east).

The Survivor Tree. This tree remained standing after the blast. It serves a source of inspiration and hope.

The Lost. Empty chair to represent each person lost in the blast. Each victim has their name inscribed on the chair, which are lit underneath at night. The smaller chairs represent the children.

The fence that surrounded the rubble after the bombing. Once the memorial was built, the fence had come to represent a way to express grief and remembrance. A portion of it was left and continues to be adorned with reminders and memories of victims.

Another view of the fence. Items are periodically removed from the fence and put in storage and eventually goes on display inside the memorial museum.

Photos of the bombed out building are on display.

A waterfall I never knew existed until I took a walk by myself around the South side of the memorial.

Jesus Wept.

Not officially part of the memorial, but is located across the street. This was created by a church damaged in the blast. Each empty brick represents a victim. The figure in white is Christ with His head in His hands, weeping.

I found this more moving than the entire memorial.
