OK, now that Denny is gone (oh please, for good this time) maybe we can move on to some better Gray's Anatomy episodes. At least the music was good.
Here's what you heard in the episode titled "Stairway To Heaven" on January 22, 2009:
Birds - Emiliana Torrini
from the CD "Me and Armini" ![]()
Blindsided - Bon Iver
from the CD "For Emma, Forever Ago" ![]()
Drifting Further Away - Powderfinger
from the CD "Dream Days At the Hotel Existence"
Enjoy!
Did you catch the new Grays Anatomy music video in last night's clip show? The show that aired April 12, 2007 was called "Every Moment Counts" and was hosted by Denny!
At the end of the show, they had a brand new music video.
Keep reading to find out who sang it....
The song is by "The Story" byBrandi Carlile
from her CD "The Story." ![]()
It isn't the video they showed on ABC last night, but you can see Brandi perform "The Story" and "Turpentine" right here on her Amazon page.
Every week ABC creates a "combo" commercial, or Promo, to promote (get it, "promo") next week's shows. Often they use very cool music, as was the case on March 12th, 2007 (3-12-07):
Candice asked:
During the week 3-12-07 they play the commercials/previews for ugly betty, greys and october rd, I cant figure out the song... some of the lyrics are, "Come play a little game with me". I think I could be wrong. Can anyone help me!!! Thanks
Thankfully, dear reader Petunia had the answer. Read more to find out who.....
Here is Petunia's answer:
This addresses Candice's post for the promo music for weeks of 3/12. It's called Dirty Laundry by Bitter:Sweet ![]()
And you can find it on the CD "The Mating Game" by Bitter:Sweet. ![]()

Music? Well, there was only one song as far as I could tell. It was really at a low volume, but I think It went like this...
Sleep, don't weep, my sweet love
Your face is all wet and your day was rough
And Stephanie asked:
In the episode, where Izzy is passing Denny, (episode: some kind of miricle) another song plays in the closing. Lyrics are something like " i love you but i dont want to you again". but i cant seem to find it anywhere. Does anyone know what the name or the person or people who sing it?
I found out who did both. Wanna know more. Read on...
Tonight's first song was played as Meredith was being brought back to life. The title is "Sleep Don't Weep"
by Damien Rice from the CD "9."
Looks like the Grays Anatomy music team has a favorite artist in Damien Rice, because he has been featured several time this season.
The second song on tonight's eppie was "Swans" by Unkle Bob. ![]()
They are a UK band, and you can't get that song on iTunes in the USA (but you UK folks can). However, Amazon has it as an import on the CD "Hit Parade." You can learn more about them on MySpace or their rather plain record label website.
Updated: There was a 3rd song in the episode. This song plays as the Chief and the others work on reviving Meredith.
Here is the music list from the 1/11/2007 episode of Grey's Anatomy. It was titled "Six Days part 1" and was full of great music.
If you liked any of the music in the Grey's Anatomy season premiere, I've compiled a list of all the songs.

In episode 219 of Grey's Anatomy ("What Have I Done To Deserve This"), Christina is dancing to some music on her iPod when Burke comes in and joins her.
Want to know who did the song? Read on...
The song used in that scene was called "Diplo Rhythm"
by Diplo on the CD "Florida." ![]()
Don't forget to check out Grey's Anatomy on DVD.
You can view the video by clicking the image below.
It just aired, tonight on ABC right after the episode. Did you see it? Was it not great?
So, you want the song right? Read on to find out who sang it!
It was "How To Save A Life"
on the CD of the same name
by The Fray!
As soon as someone uploads it to YouTube, I will post it here.
OK, it isn't great quality, and may soon be deleted, but here is the best we got so far....
Also, here are some fan-made, not-official versions made before the offical one aired....
Why is it I always want to spell that Gray's Anantomy? I will be trying my best to keep this post active and updated as new shows roll around. If I can, I will also try to add music from the promos (aka trailers/previews/commercials/next week on).
(This post once contained multiple episodes, I've now broken them up by show title. Visit the archive to see the posts)
