Monday Mission 4.0

Those of you on the Monday Mission Mailing List will get one last mailer after this week, telling you how to join the new PromoGuy dot Net mailing list. I felt I needed to start a new list, since there are over 300 members to the MMMailer. That old list will be purged and I will put up a new sign-up box for me to send out announcements on this site. OK? OK.

Welcome to the end of the line, folks. This is Mission's End. You accepted your mission like a pro, and now be proud that you have completed it.

I think I've gone over the "whys" of this decision, so I won't do it once again. I just want to thank everyone who has ever joined in the Monday Mission, whether it was one time only, stopped doing it years ago or just recently started taking part. It has been so much fun, and more than anything else, has been a great way to meet new people, read new blogs, and hopefully, help you get to know ME a little better.

When I began, I tried to make this "meme" (weekly Q&A) different from all the others. I don't know if I fully succeeded or not, but every week I put in my best effort to make the questions relevant and important.

"The meme that makes you go Hmmmmmm."

I always wanted you to think, to put some thought and effort into your answers because I always put some of myself into the questions. And what a lot of questions there were:

80 Comment Questions
110 Bonus
770 MM Questions

..give or take

Any wonder why I think I've done all I can with it?

I hope you've had fun, and while the MM is over, PromoGuy dot Net will keep on going.

So....

This is, at long last, the final edition of PromoGuy's Monday Mission. Sheesh, I actually have a lump in my throat....

PromoGuy's Monday Mission 4.0

1. In the last week, what happened that made you feel loved beyond your wildest dreams? [ from MM 1.0]

2. What was the last audio CD you paid money for?
[ from MM 1.3]

3. Has someone you know ever told you they had a terminal illness? What was it like for you when you found out. How did that change your relationship with them?
[ from MM 2.45]

4. Do you have an accent? Are there any phrases or words you say that tip folks that you aren't from around these parts?
[ from MM 2.38]

5. What's the difference between being a Father, and being a Daddy?
[ from MM 3.25]

6. What is the most recent thing guilt has motivated you to do?
[ from MM 2.50]

7. How do you feel about tips and tipping? Do you feel obligated to tip even if your service is bad because you know the servers don't get paid much? If you've ever relied on tips for your income, how do you feel when you don't get any?
[This is a new one, had to throw in at least one more hot topic before I sign off]

BONUS: Will you still love me for the rest of my life?

Today's Comment Question: Your Mission is finally over, please file your report.

˜˜˜ ˜˜˜ ˜˜˜
But it's hard
Leaving all this behind me now
Like a schoolboy so lost
Never found until now

And all this could be
Such a dream, so it seems
I was never much good at goodbye

Goodbye....

Mine are up! Thanks for the good times, PromoGuy! :)

It had the best of meme questions.
It had the worst of meme questions.
However, the memories will last.
We all will miss the Monday Mission.

Mine are up as well, best wishes for 2004.

I'll miss MM.

...yeah. what Shawn said.
Mine are up.
I will definitely miss the Monday Mission. I always enjoyed answering the questions, and reading through the answers given by the other missionaries. Thanks Promo - for everything! Here's to bigger and better things...

Mine's up. I'm gonna miss this every monday :*(

Comment Q: Mission accomplished! You've done very well.

--TG

Now I have a song stuck in my head, "Tell me why I don't like Mondays" (anymore). I'm going to miss MM. Thanks for all the missions though.

There is a great emptiness that is filling my heart today as I know that I will no longer have to think very hard on Monday or in my case most Tuesdays. You will be missed for your questions, but you will still be read for you words. Good luck with whatever the future holds for you. Don't be a stranger.

By the way mine last ones are up!

Mine just went up.

I'm going to miss the Missions. Now I have nothing to look forward to (or post about) on Mondays anymore. But don't worry ... I'll still come around to visit.

Mine's up.

Although I haven't done this in a while, I'm sad that it's ending. But it was great while it lasted. Ya done good!

Have a great 2004!

Mine is up.

I am DOOMED!

Happy New Year and happy retirement to the MM.

You always had the most thoughtful questions, which made answering them even more enjoyable. Thanks Promoguy, your Monday Missions will be missed.

*sniff* Best of wishes.

Mine are up, I'll still be around, no worries.

Mine are up!

MM will be missed, but you'll still be around!!! It's been a great run ...

Well, mine are up. I'm really going to miss the Mission - weekly memes that make you think instead of asking easy questions are too damn hard to come by.

Mine are up! Thanks for the interesting blogfodder, Promo!

My answers are posted. Thanks, Promo! :)

Mine are up. Thanks for doing this for so long!

Mine's up and I'm gonna miss it. Hope you bring MM back again.

Comment Question's Answer: "Saigon. [expletive deleted]. I'm still only in Saigon. - I wanted a mission, and for my sins they gave me one, brought it up to me like room service." --Captain Willard (Martin Sheen), Apocalypse Now

For some reason the trackback won't work this morning, so I'd better leave my link in a comment just in case... My last MM.

Mine's up.. sorry it's late. Enjoyed the few I did get a chance to respond to.

Best wishes!

Raspil: thank you for taking the time to go to my site. I stand by my comments. If servers do their job well, they should be rewarded. Conversely, if they don't do their job well, or their attitude is such that it drives away business, then they should not be rewarded. It's like this in all professions: you do well, you get paid and keep your job; you do badly and you get fired. I don't have to work as a server to find this out.

up a day late. first and last participation. thanks for the effort!

TanksGrrl -- there are things that happen in the food service industry that people who have never been in it do not understand. It has nothing to do with one person pulling their weight or not, they can do the best job ever and still be treated like crap and stiffed night after night or have their tips stolen from customers (that happened to me once). You can smile from ear to ear and do your best to please the customer and the customer will still not appreciate the effort. The worst thing you can do is not even have the desire to put yourself in someone else's shoes and take their efforts for granted.

I will lust you forever, from a far. I want to taste those sweet cherry lips.

I finally got mine up! (Hey, stop giggling. I didn't mean that. Jesus Christ...)

You know what? That mission wasn't so absolutely horrible. It was just as addictive as I expected it to be when I started...and after a hiatus...I came back to just this meme- the one that started them all. You outlasted most of them..just keep that in mind...

You know you'll be missed:) and you'll always be a link on my page:)

mine are up. MM will be missed.
