Yog made a post containing the lyrics to "Rainbow Connection" since the Monday Mission didn't make it out on Monday.

It reminded me of the awful skit on SNL with Justin Timberlake and a bad Kermit puppet. The skit was pretty lame, but I began to hear the lyrics in a new way. A cynical way.

As I posted in Yog's comments:

Great tune, but when I heard it again recently (on SNL, bad skit), I began to hear it as a cynical song. Like Kermie is down on those who beleive in rainbows and that we need a reality check.

I think the second verse is what makes me think that.

Who said that every wish would be heard and answered when wished on the morning star?
Somebody thought of that, and someone believed it, and look what it's done so far.
What's so amazing that keeps us stargazing and what do we think we might see?
Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection, the lovers, the dreamers, and me.
