The Passion and the Pain

The more I hear about Mel Gibson's movie "The Passion" the more I want to see it.

It depicts the last 12 hours of the life of Jesus Christ, and will be "the most authentic account ever of the crucifixion." It is said to be released Ash Wedsday of 2004, however, it has yet to find a distributor.

There is some controversy about this movie, but I won't get into that here.

I was able to locate a site in Japanese that linked to the trailers. Since I am sure many readers would be interested in seeing what this movie is all about, I wanted to present the list here. Even though they are no longer than 5 minutes, I still was quite moved by what I saw.

TheMovieBox.net lists three different videos you can watch.

There are two trailers and one "featurette" in either QuickTime or Windows Media formats.

An alternate site that has links is HollywoodJesus.com.

Maybe it's better if some big movie company doesn't distribute it. If a major picked it up it could make or break Mel's directing career.

I think Mel had a stroke of genuis in his marketing campaign. I don't think he planned the half of it - it just happened.
