Not Too "Shabby"

AH-HA!

Finally I know what these purses are called! "Shabby Chic!" Or is it? Is it? I'm still not sure.

I have a relative who makes similar purses (much prettier than the one on flEa-Bay) and I was trying to convince her to auction a few or sell them. It may not be worth the effort though. She is totally not interested in the idea.

So I will have something to tell her, help me out. Are these popular everywhere? Would you buy one? How much would you pay?

I think the red one (the "chic" link) is pretty cute. I would buy one, if I had any money. I'd probably be more likely to buy it in person at a craft mall or craft show rather then on e-bay. In case you were wondering... ;)

I like the toile one, because it has a classic look to it. However, I'm sticking with my current purse, as I constantly have cookies and sippy cups inside, and am too cheap to buy a new one! :)

I think the Shabby Chic think may have maxed out...

i like the toile one but the other ones are pretty heinous. i buy (and sell) a ton of crap off of e-bay. so i think it's a great idea. not sure how much i would pay for it... you have to consider shipping too when you buy from e-bay. and really, what she would do is set a rock bottom price that is the lowest she would sell it for and then let the market determine how much it will go for. people often get into crazy bidding wars.

and btw, i wouldn't really characterize that as shabby chic. that's more of an interior design style made popular by rachel ashwell. not usually used to describe clothing. but you're a dude, so we'll let you slide on that one. ;-)

Look more like Crappy Chic.

Those are hideous! Around here (KY) everyone and their sister are making Vera Bradley knockoff purses. Now those I would buy - the more pockets the better.

They are most definitely butt ugly.

I came here last night (Sydney time) and seen 2 comments saying how nice they were so i decided to wait for a few more comments before posting my "oh goodness they are ugly" post.
Sorry to offend anyone but they ARE BUTT UGLY!

she's onto something... just needs to do somemore research- look into embellishments... find her own style... at this point they are generic, but I know what look she is heading for- and it is high fashion... it is definately shabby-chic, but still needs more work. She's got a wonderful foundation... now add antique buttons, some charms, some beads... etc... the more lavish the better, and that way she is selling antique embellished products, too, which opens up her market 2 fold. Wish I had time to help her...

I think they're pretty cool, actually. I've seen quite a few chicks carrying stuff like this here (Manhattan). They're a lot more fun than the pedestrian Kate Spade crap so many other people seem to think is really fantastic.
