Late one night while I sat Blogging,
My eyes were fuzzy, my vision fogging,
I heard a tune, I wondered how?
"Men at Work - Who Can It Be Now?"
I turned my head and to my suprise!
It was Martha Quinn and her sparkling eyes.
"What's this?" I said aloud,
Remembering an MTV that made me proud.
Then I saw what she had become,
A victim of a decade now long gone.
Hawking '80s music, looking slightly old
Sadly true "Angel *Is* A Centerfold."
She said "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun"
and I remember wishing I could give her some.
Some call them oldies but I won't use it,
because there something great about "our" music.
So I watched it all until it was done,
because tonight I did want to Wang Chung,
As it ended I felt much older,
I nearly picked up the phone to order.
Then it hit me like a rocket,
I have all of these records in my closet.
Axel F, Eurythmics, Duran Duran,
Big Country, Animotion, the League Human.
Why buy all these when I own them all,
but what in the heck can I play them on.
The answer was simple, plain to see,
Too much is never enough because ...
I want my MP3.

Oh boy, yikes does this sound too familar. Boyo, am I showing my age or what? I'm just another 80s kid I guess:-)
I have a butt old entry I came up with (in writing, while on vacation) that I really need to post.
It's a talkback with one of those "You know you're a child of the 80's if..." lists!
And just a few weeks ago, I pulled out all my old Duran Duran 12" singles I had purchased, and wondered if I could rip them, and then sell them on eBay.
Turns out there's no market for it. But I am going to get my father-in-law to burn them to disc so I can listen to them at work.
Ah, the 80s. *deep sigh*
oooh.. I watched that infomercial! I was almost tempted to buy the set, when I realized that I honestly have 98% of those albums and tapes, and I LIKE it that they are imperfect!
