Music Heard in VISA Commercial: Downtown

I've had a lot of questions recently about the VISA commercial where the plan-jane girl gets a makeover, new shoes and dress all the while a lady sings "Downtown."

There is a current VISA commercial, featuring a young lady experiencing a fashion and attitude recreation, with "Downtown" playing and everyone dancing. Who is the lady singing (or pretending to sing) the song?

Who is the african-american woman singing in the new visa commercial. It has some young girl spending a ton of dough discovering herself in it too. The singers voice is amazing, and I would love to know who she is. Thanks

The singer (vocals, and on-screen) is Niki Harris, and the song is the Petula Clark classic "Downtown."

Yes mama Niki is singing and acting and is the new face and voice for Visa. It was an amazing experience. Director Paul Hunter and director of photography from "Dreamgirls" fame helped me to keep me looking half way decent.

As you may know, Niki is the daughter of Jazz legend Gene Harris. Niki has an album "Live in Switzerland" check it out on Amazon. She was also Madonna's backup singer on the several of her live tours.
