I finally finished "sanitizing" Seabiscuit, and I am quite pleased with the results.
This challenge began because a friend of mine just loved Seabiscuit, but was alway uncomfortable showing it to his young son. I was inspired to "sanitize" it when I heard the phrase "It is a great family movie, except for...."
Man, how many times have we heard that?
He always felt a little uneasy about the movie due to some language, a brothel scene, and some violence. I took it as a challenge to "redo" the movie for the whole family. Sure there are places that will do it for you, but I like to do it myself. Anyway, with that finished, it got me to thinking.
What other movies would be great for the whole family, with a little bit of editing? I'd love to see other folks suggestions, and comments on what they'd edit.
I'll toss one in:
Back to the Future (Part 1) - A lot of fun when I was a kid, but now, I have to say, there is a lot of foul language in this movie. Also a lot of J.C.'s (that doesn't offend everyone, but I found it excessive). I need to re-watch it, but I think the scene with Marty and his (young) Mom commenting on his underwear and hitting on him might have to go.
KB Mentioned "Home Alone" which never crossed my mind.
So, anyone else have a movie they'd make changes to for family viewing? I need a project!
