The self-proclaimed, and internet-proven villan of The Amazing Race 6, issued his non-apolgy last week. In case you missed it, he shoved his wife (or, her backpack, as he puts it) and verbally dressed her down throughout the entire race, causing quite an uproar. His plan to gain noteriety by being the guy we love to hate turned sour, as he eventually became the guy people just plain hate.
Baker went into the competition with hopes of being the show's villain, but he had no idea "it would look like that." Most of "that" were arguments and a shoving incident with his wife.
"I turned off my compassion," said Baker. "I pushed the envelope too far. I learned a lot about myself. I'm deeply sorry if I offended people out there. I look at what I saw up there, and I didn't like the person that I saw."
Hm. "I'm deeply sorry if I offended people out there." Not quite the same as saying "i'm deeply sorry for my actions" is it?
Kinda a lot like the apology most women are used to getting.
Goes something like this: "I'm sorry your feelings got hurt" or "I'm sorry what I did upset you."
Ah, but seldom is heard "I apologize for what I did, it was wrong. Please forgive me."
Is that so hard?
Apparently.
