My Free iPod Blog - Day 01

It all began here on August 06, 2004. Now, the truly free iPod is here. It tool a while but finally it is here (The journey in-between can be followed here).

From the other sites that have show their FreeiPods.com box, I wasn't sure of how big the box was. Kinda smallish. So to give you an idea, here is the box, with my big head as a reference.

So here is the box, in all of its shrink-wrapped glory.

Then you slide off the colored squares and you get a Black Box (and it is Ride on Time).

The box folds open in half.

Then you open the two flaps.

This is a lot like Oragami, no? Here's what you get!

Unlike Kyberlie's, this one did not have "FreeiPods.com" engraved on the back. Not sure why, but it is fine with me!

It took 4 hours to fully charge, then I had to install iTunes and the iPod software. That took a while. Then right away, it wants to update to the newest version online. So, it took me about a day to get things all set-up and going.

First impressions? This iPod phenom really IS all it is cracked up to be. I can't believe how great this thing is.

First thing I need? A car mount, with an FM transmitter and a car lighter charger.

First software need? ANYTHING besides iTunes. I despise iTunes.
