November 26, 2004Who Ya Gonna Call? DoorBusters!Kodak DX4530 5 Mega Pixel Camera for $199 with docking station! That was the Wal-Mart offer that tempted me. You know, used to be the day after Thanksgiving was for rest. Now, it seems to be reserved for creating a shopping panic. Doors open at 6AM! 5:30 AM! Prices good through 11AM! Hurry! Target even offered to give you a wake-up call! Sheesh! I have to admit I was tempted and nearly set my alarm for 5AM to get that EasyShare DX4530. $198 for a 5 MP camera? That's too good to pass up. Plus, the key word is "EASY" which means m'Lady can use it. And it had great reviews! Then, lo and behold, I saw it online at WalMart.com!!! You mean I can order it the night before and sleep in? YEAH BABY! So I did. Then I got up and realized the 128MB SD card (digital film) was a great deal for $14.98, so I went to Wal-mart after all. I strolled in around 8AM, and lookie there, they had 6 cameras left. So I bought one, and the SD card (and the"Elf" DVD too). By the time I went back by the palette the cameras were ALL gone! I promptly went home, called Wal-Mart.com and cancelled my order. The Customer Service rep even asked me if I had one in my hands. I said yeah I sure do, why? He said because they were sold out online and didn't want me to miss out. Now THAT is Customer Service. Would Best Buy do that? Heck no! Plus WM doesn't have that awful return policy like BB does. So, looks like being a late DoorBuster paid off anyway. Whee! 5 Mega Pixels!!!! Posted by on November 26, 2004 @ November 26, 2004 02:31 PM |
Wow now that is a good deal! You done good :) We did a little Black Friday shopping yesterday as well -- didn't go out til 9:00 AM ... and we still got everything we wanted. Of course we were buying nerdy-type things at Staples - $39 160GB hard drives (great! deal!), ethernet cards, 40 DVD-RW's for $2.50!, 50 slimline jewel CD/DVD cases for $1.50, CF cards, surge protectors ... and we got 10 DVD's at Walmart for $3.88 each. I love getting a bargain ... even more so when I don't have to get up at 5 AM ;)
Posted by: Lacy at November 27, 2004 10:07 AMGood deals or not. I don't shop at Wal-Mart EVER. They treat their employees like crap, sexually/age discriminate, make their employees work over time and not clock it, and don't pay them enough to afford medical benefits to take care of their families. You probably would have gotten a similar deal at Target, or best buy. http://www.walmartwatch.com/info/internal.cfm?subsection_id=131&internal_id=350
Really they're scum!
It used to be that they prided themselves on selling "made in America" items..now it's made in china. Sam Walton's family are money hungry monsters and don't give a damn about their employees. When he died, they became mud suckers—taking from any and everyone. I'm so glad the last city I lived in and this new one have nixed on having a SuperWalmart built—I wish they'd nix all the Wal-Marts!
Damn! If I would have know about it, I totally would have ordered one!
