January 19, 2004Hit 'n' Run, 01/19/2004Welcome to another HnR! This week's first HnR begins with a slight re-hash, a few sites I've hyped before but happen to think are worth mentioning again. Then we slide into a mostly Art-related list 'o' links. Hope your week is off to a good start! PayPalSucks.com - In case you didn't know, they will tell you why. NeoGeo Pocket PC Emulator - Called "neopopCE" it is all in Japanese, and besides that, it was slow as all getout. But if you like to tinker, give it a try. Some public domain R0Ms can be had with a little Google-ing. Free Acid Loops - A set of free WAV "loops" for mixing your own music. I've been collecting these each week for over a year, so I have a nice collection now. You can too, just download and save. Now, maybe someday I will actually compose something with these... Sci-Fi Overdrive - The best Sci-Fi radio show I've found so far, has a new edition online. Also found on the radio, but it doesn't air on a station with a strong enough signal for me to listen that way. Computer America - The longest-running computer related radio talk show, on every night for two hours. When David Lawrence went with a pay structure for his online archives, I had to find something else. These guys are funny and goofy, a nice change from the opinionated/cranky David L. Time Traveler 3-D DVD game - I bought this for $1.99 at GameStop at the mall. It even had the red/blue 3-D glasses. I've yet to try it, but as I recall in the arcades it originally was a hologram video game. If nothing else, for 2 Buh it makes for an interesting novelty. The Starship Destiny - A daily pixel-comic that I just discovered. Penny-Arcade - I've often wondered if the Penny-Arcade cartoons are draw on a computer or scanned in then completed. But now, after viewing this video of Gabe inking an actual panel of PA, I have all my answers. I found about half of these links in the Penny Arcade forums. They are more for me to refer back to later, but some aspiring artists out there might find them of interest: And yes, I am getting back into drawing again, but since I've no scanner I can't show ya. Unless digital photos will work, I'll let ya know. file this under Hit 'n' RunPosted by on January 19, 2004 @ January 19, 2004 12:45 PM 0 folks had something to say |
