December 9, 2003"Figgy" or "Piggy" Pudding?Figgy Pudding or Piggy Pudding? Well, since I am #1 in Google for searches on "Parson Brown" (and have a ton of comments this month alone to prove it), I thought I would tackle another Christmas song with confusing lyrics. Well, for the record, it is FIGGY: We want some figgy pudding We won't go until we get some Dang, it must be good if those folks won't go until they get some. Hm, come to think of it, I've often felt the same way, but ah, that's another topic...heh... You may recall that in Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" Mary Cratchit serves her family "Figgy Pudding" on Christmas for dessert. However, this recipie is definitely for a "Piggy Pudding!" Test your Christmas knowledge with the "Great American Christmas Quiz." Further Baking: Posted by on December 9, 2003 @ December 9, 2003 09:44 PM 4 folks had something to say |
What's figgy pudding?
Posted by: Kai at December 16, 2004 3:41 PMAs for John Rutter's version, the lyrics does not go like the one posted above.
We wish you a Merry Christmas..........(SAME HERE)
GOOD (INSTEAD OF GLAD) TIDINGS TO YOU, TO YOU AND YOUR KIN.....
WE WON'T GO UNTIL WE HAVE SOME (INSTEAD OF GET SOME).....
SO BRING SOME OUT HERE INSTEAD OF (BRING IT OUT HERE)
I still think piggy pudding is better than figgy pudding! :-)
