It sure does make people think twice before riding a car for some pathetic 1km-distance. Cars should be used only when public transportation fails, and public transportation should never fail, unless it is half a meter of snow and -40C outside.

And as long as Americans are going to keep on driving their three station wagons per family and buying their cheap gasoline, this world will never have any hope to solve the greenhouse problem.
