That used to happen to me on LiveJournal all the time. It happened so often that I got into this "select all-copy-post" method that I still use today even though I use MT and have no troubles.
Posted by: KB at February 28, 2003 10:12 AMI've lost oodles of posts, but sometimes I get lucky and find them again through my individual or category archives... this is especially useful if I haven't rebuid the site after screwing up a post. So check out your archives and see if the Mr Rogers post is hidden in a category. Then copy/paste, and it's back!

Posted by: Sue at February 28, 2003 2:49 PMI've lost many a post... too many to count. Various reasons. Was previewing it, hit back instead of the "go back and edit" button. Sometimes I'd lose internet connectivity just as I hit "save"... very frustrating indeed!
Posted by: Jennifer at February 28, 2003 10:47 PMI used to be totally cursed with losing posts, and it was always the ones that I had just spent an hour or far more working on, and then ... poof. It's been happening a lot less often to me now that I am using MT, and the fact that once I realize it's going to be a really long and important one, I either write in a word processor first (with autosave on), or I save it in draft mode after every paragraph. Call me paranoid!

Posted by: Know at March 1, 2003 8:05 PMYou are not alone. I do that a lot... not just blogging but at forums too. LOL
Posted by: Jill at March 3, 2003 7:52 AMLosing posts is probably the main reason why I left Blogger. I've done the copy-all route (usually frantically in the seconds immediately after hitting the 'post' button - dial-up is a blessing at times). I've composed in Notepad first. I'm all the time leaving a post, doing some surfing, and coming back to it, so I try to save drafts often. Last month I couldn't access MT and temporarily switched to LiveJournal. It drove me crazy that it wouldn't let you save drafts.
