December 2, 2002Monday Mission 2.48The Monday Mission turns ONE this week! Does it seem like only a year? Seems longer to me (in a good way), but one year it is.When I launched the MM last December I had no idea whether it would catch on. My hope was to simply meet some new people and get to know them better. And now, one year later, the MM has allowed me to meet so many wonderful people. And hopefully, it has given you the chance to get to know a few new bloggers, and maybe, even helped folks make some new friends. You may have noticed the Monday Missionary list on the left sidebar. If you are not on it, be sure to add yourself. One thing the list doesn't do is point out some of the very first Monday Missionaries. I would like to personally thank Christy, Christine, Chrystal, Deb, Eve, Jennifer, Robyn, and Sarah. Your help, participation and friendship has been invaluable. I hope for it to continue. So, before I get too sappy, I should probably get on with the show. But if you have any thoughts about the MM that you would like to share, please leave them here. I'd really like to know who has been doing the MM the longest. I don't think anyone has done each and every one of them, but it would be fun to see who all has been at it for a long time. You can read all the Monday Missions right here. Now please fix me a Funky Cold Medina because it is time for.... PromoGuy's Monday Mission 2.481. Suppose God (or your deity of choice) grants you one miracle. Consider the world in which we live. Consider your life and family. What would you request for this miracle? Are you sure that is the best way to use it? You only get one. 2. I believe that prayers do get answered, but I realize not everyone agrees. Have you ever had an experience where you truly believe your prayer was answered? If you don't believe in such things, how come? What is your philosophy on prayer? 3. Have you ever lost a pet? That is, have you ever had a pet get loose, run away or be stolen? Did you get it back? How did the loss impact your life? 4. Getting together with family at the holidays is great, I just love it. Most of all I love the food. What is your favorite holiday food? 5. One thing I've noticed about the holidays is that no one makes Pumpkin Pie like my Grandmother. She has totally spoiled me on her recipe, I just don't like the taste of anyone else's Pumpkin Pie. Are there are dishes or desserts that someone in your family fixes better than anyone else? 6. Since I have no brothers or sisters, I am always wondering what it would have been like. Now that I am older, it kinda stinks that I will never be an Uncle. Do you have any siblings with children? How does it make you feel to be an Aunt or an Uncle? If not, would you like to be have nieces and nephews? Would you make a good relative to them? 7. I am putting together a CD of great holiday music. Do you have any suggestions of what songs (title/artist) I should include? BONUS: How would you feel knowin' prejudice was obsolete and all mankind danced to the same beat? Today's Comment Question: Did you see Titanic? Did Rose die at the end or was she just sleeping? I say she was just asleep and dreaming. file this under Monday MissionPosted by on December 2, 2002 @ December 2, 2002 10:02 AM 55 folks had something to say |

Posted by: Jill at December 2, 2002 10:17 AMmine are up! happy 1st birthday!
I saw Titanic, didn't like it. i think she was sleeping and dreaming
Posted by: ed at December 2, 2002 10:30 AMI never saw Titanic. I can't stand Leo DeCrappio...sorry I can't be of help ;)
Posted by: caff at December 2, 2002 10:31 AMCongrats on 1 year!!
I think Rose died, and Jack was there waiting for her.
Posted by: Karen at December 2, 2002 10:34 AMOn my way to post...
But Rose died at the end... she was very old, she got her story told, and all that was left to do was DIE... when she went to heaven, she returned to that time in her life... that was my depiction.
Mine's UP!
Rose died. Once she gave the 'Heart of the Ocean' back to the sea (and to Jack), she got in bed and passed quietly away. Just as Jack predicted... she was going to die an old woman all warm in her bed... ::sniffs::
Happy first Birthday! Congrats on being up so long too.
I think Rose was dreaming of her life on the Titanic and died happily.
Oh yea, and my answers are up!
Posted by: clrmehppygrl at December 2, 2002 10:42 AMI absolutly *hated* that movie, so who cares? :P
Posted by: missy at December 2, 2002 10:42 AMUp!
Personally, I think Rose bit the Big One at the end. She was old and nothing was left for her. She had just completed her biggest game.
Posted by: Shawn at December 2, 2002 10:48 AMHappy Birthday to the Monday Mission!!
Here are mine for old time's sake :)
Up :)
I do think that Rose died. Throwing back the heart of the ocean was the conclusion for her life, I think.
Posted by: Claire at December 2, 2002 11:08 AMYAY! I've got mine up for a change :):)
I've never watched the entire Titanic movie. It's too long for me to pay attention to.
Posted by: meowy at December 2, 2002 11:30 AMfinally got around to getting my answers up
As for Rose...I think she died.
Posted by: Elfchick at December 2, 2002 11:37 AMWow, a year is quite a long time on the internet! Thats great news! Well, ive had my site for a little over two months and ive done everyone since then. I found the mission from another blog site then jumped aboard. If you look i linked you on my site with a little photo =)
Posted by: Neil Urban at December 2, 2002 12:01 PMI hate that movie. I hate how people always mention that movie when they talk about James Cameron. He is MR Terminator and Aliens damn it.
Posted by: Jake at December 2, 2002 12:19 PMDone! Even though I skipped a few, sorry. (Law school exams suck.)
Posted by: Jennifer at December 2, 2002 1:14 PMI was the one who was asleep at the end of Titanic.
Posted by: Manda at December 2, 2002 1:18 PMI think Rose was just sleeping and dreamed that wonderful dream. Incidentally the ONLY part of the entire three-hour long movie that made me cry the first time I saw it. I never cry at movies but that part just got me.
Posted by: Jennifer at December 2, 2002 1:19 PMup! and i think rose finally died.
Posted by: laura at December 2, 2002 1:21 PMUp!
I think Rose died at the end, sounds like something Cameron would have wanted to imply.
Posted by: Kat Lively at December 2, 2002 1:41 PMI never saw Titanic. I tend to avoid what everyone else is doing. Besides, I already knew how it turned out.
Posted by: Raspil at December 2, 2002 1:57 PMp.s.: can't remember Titanic's end... :-P
Posted by: giorgia at December 2, 2002 2:28 PMMine are up (after way too long of a hiatus!) :)
Oh, and she died. :) Just cuz I said so!
Posted by: Amanda at December 2, 2002 3:21 PMWe all know of course that the end was kept that vague on purpose.. but I think Rose actually died and went to join her man ;) Sorry, sometimes I'm a sucker for happy endings.
MM is up!
Posted by: ZhiWen at December 2, 2002 4:09 PMMine are up!

Posted by: RaeAnne at December 2, 2002 7:54 PMHey there. Sorry for the late post again, but I've really had one of those busy day's!
Again though....
Better late than never! hehe. ; )
As for poor old Rose...
Sorry, but I think she passed away!
What was she thinkin' though when throwing that gem over the boat??!!??
I think Rose croaked. Come on, she was like 106 years old. Not to mention that her soul was finally at peace, or something.
Posted by: Liz at December 2, 2002 8:30 PMUp! I did not see Titantic. I'm very proud of that.

Posted by: anotherLisa at December 2, 2002 10:59 PMMine is coming tomorrow - I can't think to write coherent thoughts right now. Thanks for keeping this up for a year - I always look forward to it even if I don't always participate! *smooch!*

Posted by: stennie at December 3, 2002 1:14 AMI'm back. And Rose died. She had taken care of business, and that was that!
Posted by: Gretchen at December 3, 2002 4:18 PMI just remembered to tell you that I got mine up.
Posted by: Sid at December 4, 2002 12:38 AMI did it.... my usual style of late... LATE! I know, it is WEDNESDAY, and some places THURSDAY... but I wanted to get in on the Birthday edition of the Monday Mission!
Posted by: Desiree at December 4, 2002 2:14 PMmine will be up in a few minutes...I know, 2 days late, better than never :)
Posted by: christina at December 4, 2002 10:36 PMElvis' 'White Christmas'! Titanic was o.k. but a little too long. Great effects though.Yes, we lost two dogs for over a week, when lightning hit a tree in our yard. I really didn't have much time to think about missing them until they came back, we were so busy walking and searching for them. I have a brother, but I have almost given up on being an Uncle, except for my Br. in law. Maby!?
Posted by: Patrick Gleaton at May 21, 2003 10:47 PMRose had to of died at the end of Titantic. When she was reunited with Jack at the end, he was with everyone who had died. Besides, Jack told her she would die an old lady warm in her bed.
Posted by: Barry Henderson at April 13, 2005 3:00 AMRose die at the end becuz she finally gave what belonged to the ocean back its heart. Just liked jack predicted she did die and old woman safe in her bed and she did have children and she did survive. Later when she was in heaven she returned to the titanic with the rest of the ppl a board and they will finally finish their voyage to New York together and rest in peace from then on.

Well, the first time I saw it I thought she was just dreaming, but then my dad said,"oh, she went to heaven." and at first i was like no, but then I started thinking, I mean it makes perfect sense. They show you all her pictures of her growing up and like how she was riding western and not sidesaddle like Jack said he woul teach her earlier in the movie. But after that they show her "asleep in her bed, as an old woman," just as Jack said she woul die and then in my opinion she goes to heaven on the boat with all the others who died on the boat including Jack, which then they live happily ever after.
