November 18, 2002Solaris Trailer Music & Moby (part one)You can now buy the piano music song used in the trailer for Solaris - get FRAGILE only at -text above added on 11-28-2005 ###### Has anyone seen the television commercials for "Solaris?" They seem to have a Moby-ish tune playing under the clips. Usually studios do not use music from the actual movie in the commercials & trailers for said movie. I am not sure if it is Moby, but if anyone knows the artist & title of the music in the commercial for "Solaris" please let me know. It is not in the trailer online, so I don't know how to direct you to it. But if I have it on video, I will post the audio here to help. UPDATE! Speaking of Moby... Did anyone see the promo UPN is running for "The Wizard of OZ?" They are using Moby's "In This World" from his "18" CD. It is a very cool spot and the music creates a very haunting backdrop for the movie. It actually give the movie a very adult, and scary feel. Amazing what a good piece of music and clever editing can do to influence a person's view on somthing with which they are already familiar. It almost looks like an entirely different movie! Be sure to look at the Flash pop-up on the WB's home page. It goes by fast, but it is wicked cool. You can view the WB's Trailer/Promo for "The Wizard of Oz" here. Excellent work. Simply excellent. file this under MultiMediaPosted by on November 18, 2002 @ November 18, 2002 01:26 PM 8 folks had something to say |
I don't know what song it is but this site is a good resource for music in commercials:
It doesn't have the "Solaris" commercials listed yet. I don't know how often it's updated.
(And, if you're curious, the reason trailers and commercials rarely have music from the actual movie score is because music is usually the last thing done, usually after the editing is finished.)

they are also using the music on the Golf Channel now (*/2003). I called them. The Song is called "Fragile" and is on a cd compiliation of songs called "Hypermedia." The guy at the golf channel said that song is written by Peter Oldroid/Gary Stargell (last name spelling may be wrong) and is from the "Dead good music library" which I assume is the label. He said the ISDN number on the cd is BGML4600 and the track, which is 36 on the disc, is produced by "g. scargill."
The rap song that's playing when Chris first meets Snow is "Riddle Box" by Insane Clown Posse.
Posted by: AChristT at February 4, 2004 10:55 PMIs the Moby-ish sounding song the one that plays in the "HBO Special: Inside Solaris" (on the DVD as far as I know - I've only seen the French one), at the beginning and over the closing credits? If so, is that the one that is not commercially available?
