April 30, 2002The A.D.D.ition of all fearsSo, here I sit at a crossroads. To take or not to take Ritalin. Or more specifically, Methylin E.R. the generic, and cheaper, version. I took a hiatus from all this about 2 months ago, after trying Concerta and Welbutrin. Neither did much for me other than make me grouchy and a joy to be around. I thought maybe if I try harder, keep notes (or use my PalmPilot more) that it would improve. But it didn't. I wound up forgetting more things and even showing up for appointments a day late. But after reading Furo's comments, and the support of my best friend, I thought I would give it one more shot. After all, I spent a lot of money trying to learn if I really did have A.D.D. Well, turns out I did, and a pretty bad case of it at that. So, I called up the Doc and asked her to re-issue my prescriptions. I picked them up last night on the way home and had them filled later in the evening. Which brings up right back where we began. Two bottles. One of 20mg and one of 10mg. The 20 lasts 8 hours, and the 10 only four. The dosage is one of each in the AM. The reason being that I need more concentration in the mornings, so I get an extra burst from the 10, meanwhile the 20 lasts most of the day. As Furo mentioned, finding the correct dosage is the key. So, I am going to press on and see how it goes. Okie dokie, I just took them. Let's hope for the best. file this under A.D.D.ing It All UpPosted by on April 30, 2002 @ April 30, 2002 09:06 AM 5 folks had something to say |
good luck! I hope it helps
:)
The dosage is the key, Furo is right. Keep at it. A calm world is a blessing and sometimes it comes about with the help of modern medicine. I am never far away.

Posted by: Babs at May 1, 2002 9:58 AMI gave up after that one round of medicine. It made me even more forgetful then I was before! I was like a zombie - it was terrible. At times I wonder if I should investigate it further again, but I sort of like the bubbly airhead who can hold 4 conversations and do 2 other things at the same time!
