This past weekend I picked up “Daredevil” with Ben and Jen as a pre-owned DVD ($6.99).

For some reason, a lot of people didn’t care for this movie. Was it that a lot of folks just didn’t want to like it? Was it because folks are tired of Ben Affleck? Was it because Kingpin wasn’t white?

Hard to say, but I really liked this movie. I really liked it a lot. It was a LOT better than “Hulk” (though that isn’t much of a compliment). Certainly better than “VanHelsing.” Not as great as “Spider-Man 2.”

I found the Digital work to be nealy seamless (except one point, where even the director in his commentary complains). The action was just right, the bad guys were very bad, and the good guys were painted in shades of gray. It moved along fast, and wasover before I knew it.

I’ve not totally explored the 2-DVD set yet, but it really made me want to pick up the “Director’s Cut” DVD that just came out.

I really don’t see why folks hated it, but hate they did. I think Ben swore he’d never don the costume again. That’s a shame, really. It would have made for a fun franchise.

Question: Will I go see “Electra,” the pesudo-spin-off of “Daredevil?”

Answer: No, but I sure I will happily pick it up in the pre-viewed DVD bin in about 8 month.
