I was trying to find out the composer(s) of the “NFL on FOX” theme music.
It is such a strong theme, which FOX had to have when the NFL moved there way back in 1994. I remember getting the CD from FOX when I worked at a TV station back then, and we played it over and over. Great tune!
Well, it took a while (and Google) but eventually I discovered the theme is actually the result of the collaboration of 2 people: Phil Garrod and Reed Hays.
On a side note, do you think the “NFL on FOX” theme sounds like the Christmas song “Sleigh Ride?”
Sing: Giddy-up, Giddy-up, Giddy-up Let’s Go….
Now sing the NFL on FOX them: Bah-da-bah, Bah-da-bah, Bah-da-bah Ba-Baaaa…
Hmm.
I know of at least two bloggers who seem to think this is more than a coincidence. What do you think?
