Before we left for the hospital, I decided to take a book I had not yet finished. I went to the bookshelf to find it, and there it was.

But there was another. And another. And another!

By the time I had finished, I had found FIVE BOOKS I had started reading but never finished!…

The thing about caring for someone that I never realized is how wrapped up in it you can get. From the moment she returned from the OR, I was there helping. Getting water, helping her drink, holding her as she walked, talking with the nurses and doctors.…

Finally the hour was upon us and we had to head out to the hospital. She was nervous and I was kinda mentally numb. I’d taken off work that day, and the next, to be available to her for whatever needs she might have.…
