I don’t recall where I first saw Fountains of Wayne, I think it was on Letterman about a week ago (or maybe Conan?), I know it wasn’t Leno (about as un-hip as they come). Yeah, I think it was Dave, he loved them.

So when I heard “Stacy’s Mom” for the first time I just cracked up. I wasn’t sure if I’d heard them right, but yeah, there it was, he said what I thought he said. I kinda forgot about the song, since I rarely listen to pop radio. Then today on Crap From The Past” the host Ron “BoogieMonster” just went on and on about the album. Then he played “Bright Future In Sales.” Oh man, that just blew me away! It was funny, had a great hook to it and was also a sly commentary on the corporate world. Happy music, what a nice change!

I haven’t bought a CD in a while, but I thinking that Fountains Of Wayne’s “Welcome Interstate Managers” is one I may just have to get!

Honestly, I don’t know how long its been since I heard music that just made me smile.
