A relative handed me a DVD he didn’t want. “Would you like this?” he asked. I looked down at the title “The Scorpion King.” Um, sure! (LIE!!!)
Hmmm, it was still shrink-wrapped. That means I can exchange it!
Next day, I went up to Target and pomptly got a $19.99 credit. I still have so many DVDs I want to own, so hard to choose just one.
I decided to get “Lord of the Rings:TFOTR – Special Extended 4-DVD Edition.” I had in my wallet a $10 credit from Christmas so I just combined it with my Scorpion King credit and Zaloom! It was mine for FREE!
Now I am really feeling the need to see “The Two Towers!” It is still in the “nice” theaters here, and I really do want to see it before it goes to Video in October.
But here we go again, I hate to go alone. But m’Lady has no interest in LOTR and admits she’d only be asking endless questions during, so she’s out.
So I guess I will knuckle down and go alone and see it some night soon. I know lots of folks go alone, and I’m not knockin’ you, it is just makes the movies much more fun for me to have someone to go with. I’m used to company. So when I go alone, it feels “weird” to me.
Eeenyways, after I break down and overcome my phobia and see “TTT” then it will be on to Daredevil I suppose, but that one looks like a “solo” move too….ah well, alone is better than not at all.
*sigh*

I just recently went to a movie alone for the first time ever. It did feel very weird … VERY. Usually I have at least my boyfriend with me, if not a larger group of friends. But I had really wanted to see The Two Towers (again) and no one that would have been interested was available to go when I could.
Just knuckle down and go … it won’t be so bad.
I would go with you to see those two movies if we lived closer. My other half doesn’t like those kinds of movies either.
I actually went to see LoTR:TT at the midnite show on opening day, and it rocked, buuuuuuut not as much as the first. Although this had Eomer (mmmmmmmmmmmEomer).
I totally understand about the not wanting someone there asking questions. When my son goes with me (he's 10) he has a zillion. That's why I go the first time alone or with a likeminded individual (like my sweetie) if I can first. It definitely helps tho, if people have at least read the book first…cause man, that's a hella lot of back story to fill someone in on…
Ask her togo.Tell if she says yes you'll tuck her in and read her a goodnight story. If no,youll be bombarded with questions.Better to bribe her with an Indian dinner.
Why don’t you and the gal do one movie each weekend? One weekend you can go to see LOTR II Towers, and the following weekend she can pick the flick?
(PS-I’m back on the caffeine! Had a quad venti caramel macchiato today!!!)
Another advantage to being single like me.
You know promoguy, these comments overlap the text box in Mozilla.
Hey you fixed it cool it now works spiffily in Mozilla.
I'm up to going to see TTT! Oh, wait. I guess it's a pretty long drive. Hmmm. Well, if I was there I would go see it! I never read the LOTR books growing up, but I absolutely loved the movies!
I’ll go with you;p I only saw it…5 times in the theatre (opening night at midnight with lotr-fellowship beforehand rocky horror style)…compared to 8 times for the first (worked a little more this year than last year)…
And I promise not to ask too many silly questions;p
You didn't want The Scorpion King? I am shocked and amazed that you would pass up that cinematic masterpiece.
