Check out this position at a local University. I can do all that stuff (and more) and just LOOK at the salary?
Are they INSANE?
How do places honestly expect to find someone to do all they ask for that kind of pay?
Theu’d be better off giving it to Professor to farm out to his class. I mean, take a look at their Lame-Ass Front Page Template Driven pages. For a University this is just shameful.
If this is the trend, I better work on my math and become a comission-based salesman. They seem to rake it in….

I interviewed for an administrative assistant position at a univeristy that required knowledge of Dreamweaver, Photoshop and Microsoft Office. They were hoping to have the person design and maintain the web pages for the Academic Dean’s office — and they were hoping for someone who could do interactive forms, etc. Database driven stuff. And maintain schedules, create presentations, solve problems for students, etc. All for the fantastic salary of about $30,000. I passed.
Yeah, that is a pretty piss-poor salary. But, hey, at least it’s got benefits, which is more than I can say for the jobs available on my campus right now… and that’s why I’m staying put because I’m not working for less and paying through the nose for health insurance! Having worked in a university environment for the past three years, I can safely say that most of the support staff positions are horribly underpaid and overworked… sometimes, one can find a great job, and sometimes not.
