I had hardly finished reading the material related to Davezilla’s plight when I learn about ToBoldlyGo.net.
Seems that another Corporate Giant is out to get the little guy. This time the giant is Paramount Pictures and the little guy is Barry Zellen.
On August 9th Paramount claimed that ToBoldyGo.net is an infringement of copyright and are demanding that he hand over the domain name.
While I think Paramount was justified in asking him to remove the image of “The Enterprise,” I also think they are taking things too far.
I like how Barry put it:
“I feel like I’ve been issued an ultimatum from the Borg Queen, telling me that resistance is futile,” Zellen said.
But something tells me, that unlike Davezilla, this one might not end in the favor of the site’s owner.

I can understand why they are doing it but jeez, how far can someone go..lol
Paramount can’t copyright a phrase like “to boldy go”! Who do they think they are? Maybe they can trademark the entire line, “to boldly go where no man/one has gone before,” but just the first three words? That’s ridiculous. I hope Barry fights it.
It’s doubtful Paramount knows who they are up against.
I used to work with Barry Zellen, besides being his friend.
They have a scorpion by the tail. But they don’t know it yet.
